Are you looking for a crossover that’s not only fun to drive but also has modern tech and robust safety features—and is all electric? If so, then the Volkswagen ID.4 may be the vehicle for you. The streets of Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, and Harrisburg are waiting for your all-electric adventure.
To introduce you to the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 before it hits dealerships, the team at Faulkner Volkswagen has put together this preview.* Read on to find out if an all-electric SUV is right for your lifestyle.
The VW ID.4 will run on a combination of an 82-kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor that charges on a 110- or 240-volt connection. You can connect it to a DC fast charging station if you need to hit the road sooner. On a full charge, the Volkswagen ID.4 will take you about 250 miles and put out 201 horsepower.
The current VW ID.4 trims all have rear-wheel drive. However, soon Volkswagen plans to put out a VW ID.4 model with all-wheel drive and even more horsepower for drivers who want a little more pep in their engine.
To help you go farther without wasting energy, the Volkswagen ID.4 uses a system called regenerative braking. When you slow the VW ID.4, the regenerative braking feature recaptures some energy as you brake and cycles it back through the SUV.
Depending on which trim you choose, you’ll have a standard 10-inch or a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system comes standard with a few different features to help you remain connected while you drive, including:
Not only is your infotainment system digital, but so is your instrument cluster. The 5.3-inch digital gauge display is standard on the Volkswagen ID.4 and is customized based on the information you need to see at the time. To make sure it’s visible to you at all times, the panel moves with your steering wheel position.
With its electric motor and lack of traditional gas engine, the VW ID.4 has even more space for you and your passengers to spread out and room for anything you might need to haul in the trunk. The Volkswagen ID.4 has a maximum 64.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
If you do have passengers in the back seat, they can stretch their legs in the 37.6 inches of rear legroom. Overall, the Volkswagen ID.4 has a total passenger volume of 99.9 cubic feet.
Do you enjoy some natural light and the feel of the wind in your hair as you coast down the highway? If so, consider adding the available panoramic sunroof to your VW ID.4. Not only that, but your passengers will also have great views of the sky as you drive.
The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 is on its way to showrooms soon, including ones around the Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, and Harrisburg, PA, areas.
